MY APPROACH
I work from a primarily insight-oriented approach, while also integrating cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness techniques into treatment depending on the individual needs of my clients. Over the course of our work together we will aim to understand your current problems in the context of past experiences and important relationships. This process will help you gain a better understanding of your feelings and the patterns of thinking and behavior that influence and perpetuate your current distress. Through the work in therapy, your coping skills will improve and you will gain a capacity to approach current problems in new and more adaptive ways. Working together, you will begin to feel unstuck and more self-aware.
The process of psychotherapy can be both strange and difficult. You have already taken important and brave beginning steps in deciding to seek out information about therapy and potential therapists. The relationship between therapist and client is incredibly important to a successful treatment and so you should find someone you like and feel comfortable working with. Should you and I decide to work together, I will place great importance on the building of a strong and stable therapeutic relationship, so that we can work in an open and trusting way. I am an active therapist aiming to understand your individual situation and needs in order to integrate techniques and provide feedback that will assist you in achieving lasting and meaningful change in your life.
FEEs
We will discuss fees over the phone and during our initial appointment. I do not take insurance but am considered an out-of-network provider and can assist in providing any paperwork your insurance company requires for reimbursement. Sliding scale fees may be negotiated on a case by case basis. I accept checks or cash for all payments.
Cancellation Policy:
I have a 24 hour cancellations policy. Should a cancellation be made with less than a 24 hour notice, you will be responsible for payment in full.
